Botox (Botulinum toxin) and Relfydess

What is Botox?

Botulinum toxin smooths expression lines, such as those on the forehead, glabella (between the eyebrows), and around the eyes (crow’s feet), giving a more “rested” and “relaxed” appearance. It is also used on the neck to relax the platysmal bands and improve the contour of the lower third of the face. It can also treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) with excellent results, among other applications.

We currently offer two toxin brands at Daniela Gorgulho Clinic: the world’s most well-known brand — Botox®, and also a newer toxin — Relfydess® by Galderma, launched in Portugal in 2025.

It is very important to return for a refinement session around 14 days after the treatment.

Relfydess: the “new Botox” (botulinum toxin) at Daniela Gorgulho Clinic

Studies indicate that the new botulinum toxin Relfydess maintains results for up to 6 months after treatment in 75% of patients. This means the results are longer-lasting than those of other botulinum toxins currently available.

A quick procedure, taking around 20 minutes, with no downtime required. It may cause mild redness or temporary swelling. In the case of Botox, the effects typically last 3 to 4 months for most people. Relfydess, on the other hand, has a significantly longer duration, with effects lasting around 6 months for most patients.

A topical anesthetic cream or ice may be used on the treatment area, and the procedure is generally well tolerated.
